BIO:
Kelly Shimoda is a documentary and fine-art photographer based in Beacon, NY. She freelances for The New York Times as well as magazines here and abroad; has exhibited in a number of shows including at the Jen Bekman Gallery; and has won several awards for her work, including an ICP/Johnson and Johnson Fellowship. She graduated from the International Center of Photography with a Certificate in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism. Prior to photography Kelly worked in international education and communications. She has a BA from Brown University in Latin American Studies & American Civilization.
